The Gers were hoping to poach the former Scotland midfielder to replace axed manager Pedro Caixinha.

But Aberdeen released a statement earlier today insisting that their manager is going nowhere.

Chairman Stewart Milne stated that McInnes still has “unfinished business” at the Pittodrie Stadium.
