Joe Jordan: Mark Warburton is building for a bright future at Rangers

JOE JORDAN reckons Mark Warburton is building for a bright future at Ibrox as he looks to strengthen his Rangers squad for a shot at the Premiership title.
The Light Blues boss has completed deals for Matt Crooks, Josh Windass and Jordan Rossiter already ahead of the new campaign and could also clinch swoops for Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar in the coming days.
Warburton has won the Championship title and Petrofac Training Cup this term and will bid for a third medal of the season when the Gers face Hibs in the Scottish Cup final this weekend.
And Scotland legend Jordan is impressed with the job Warburton is doing following his move north of the border last summer.
He told SportTimes: “It doesn’t surprise me what the manager has done there. He did a very good job at Brentford.
“I know Rangers failed the year before to get promotion but it was only a matter of time before they won the league.
“Mark has had his input and he has his knowledge of the English game. He took David Weir with him, he knows Rangers Football Club, and that was a bonus for the manager to have someone with the insight into the club and how big it is.
“Now he is starting to build a team for the Premiership. I think the manager will realise he is at a club that is huge and that has got potential so he will want players in there that will help them fulfil that.”
