1942: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by St Mirren in the Final of the Summer Cup. The Light Blues failed to retain the Trophy, reaching all 3 Finals but winning just 1.

1989: Pinched from under the noses of Celtic, Maurice Johnston secures a £1.5 million switch from Nantes to Rangers. Many have falsely claimed him to be the first Roman Catholic to play for the Club.

1990: 11,000 attend a concert by Frank Sinatra at Ibrox. The performance, which was put on by Glasgow District Council, was one of the last major concerts performed by Old Blue Eyes in Europe.

1995: Rangers sign Paul Gascoigne from Lazio for £4.3 million.

1999: Rangers kick-off pre-season with a 4-1 win over Livingston thanks to a Tony Vidmar hat-trick and a goal from Gabriel Amato.

2004: Rangers sell Mikel Arteta to Real Sociedad for £2.6 million.

2013: Fraser Aird scores the only goal as Rangers beat Eglin 1-0 at Borough Briggs in a Friendly.
