Rangers headed into their clash at Fir Park seeking victory to cut Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 11 points.
They burst into the lead on 22 minutes when Scott Arfield clipped home from a Jermain Defoe pass.
And six minutes before half time Arfield was on target again with a delicate lift over the goalkeeper.
