Rangers hoping for permanent exit for player on sale – Club considering loan
On Sunday, Rangers manager Russell Martin made it clear he expects incomings and outgoings at Ibrox before the window closes.
Martin said he only wants players who truly want to stay at Ibrox, as Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by St. Mirren at the weekend. While those comments were made as Martin clarified the situation around Hamza Igamane, it seems like Cyriel Dessers’ future is also uncertain.
Italian outlet L’Arena report that the striker is of interest to Hellas Verona.
They claim, as relayed by CalcioHellas, that Rangers don’t see the Nigerian as a key part of their squad and are open to letting him depart. This is making Verona’s job easier but for now, they are trying to work on an initial loan deal.
Rangers are only interested in a permanent sale but there is optimism that the two clubs can find a solution for the 30-year-old’s future. The Italian side could consider having an obligation to buy inserted in the loan and this can appeal to Russell’s side, who are said to value Dessers at €4m right now.
The Verona-based outlet believe that this asking price could drop, as Rangers become eager to part ways with the player in the last few days of the window.
