Rangers boss Mark Warburton has emerged as a surprise contender to fill the England Under-21 manager’s post left vacant by recently appointed England boss Gareth Southgate, according to the Times.
The FA advertised for the job last week and while the Rangers boss is unlikely to officially apply for the post before Friday’s deadline, he has his backers inside English football’s governing body.
