Rangers v Motherwell – Rate the players!
It was a less than convincing performance at Ibrox today, as Rangers escaped with a 2-1 victory over Motherwell.
It was a first half to forget for Rangers, with the visitors going in at the break a goal to the good. Scott McDonald’s tap-in looked seemingly offside, but it was nothing less than the Light Blues deserved. Abysmal defending and sloppy possession was the story of the half, it was impossible for Rangers to play any worse after the break.
Credit to Rangers, they came out the second period with an added hunger and eagerness to get back in the game. After a few missed chances, Harry Forrester guided the ball home from 10 yards to equalise. Two outstanding saves from Wes Foderingham kept The Gers in the game shortly afterwards.
Warb’s men kept at it though and snatched all three points late into injury time. Niko Kranjcar’s creative first touch on the edge of the box followed by a low cross found Michael O’Halloran in the opposing box, who’s miss-hit shot fell into the path of the unmarked Kenny Miller to stroke home Rangers’ winner and keep Mark Warburton’s men at the top of the SPFL.
