Pardew has been out of work since being sacked by Crystal Palace last December and he reportedly recently turned down the chance to return to the dugout with Dynamo Kiev.
They were ready to pay him £2million a season but Pardew is said to prefer a return to the Premier League.
But it has now been reported Pardew’s representatives have made contact with Rangers over the current managerial vacancy.
