That is according to Chelsea legend and Gerrard’s former England team-mate Frank Lampard.
Rangers today sacked manager Graeme Murty after Sunday’s humiliating 5-0 Old Firm loss to Celtic.
Gerrard is the overwhelming favourite to be Murty’s replacement and has been in talks this week.
The former Liverpool captain is the current manager of the Reds’ under-18 side and has been since the start of this season.
